Doctor starring Sivakarthikeyan, Priyanka Mohan, Yogi Babu, and other known stars. The film's music is composed by Anirudh Ravichander and this action-comedy thriller is directed by CoCo fame Nelson Dilipkumar. The film is all set to hit the screens coming Saturday in your nearest theaters.
What can we expect from Doctor?
Doctor might be a commercial film but it won't be the typical Sivakarthikeyan film we are used to, both the actor and the director have stated that we will see a different calm Sivakarthikeyan in Doctor with minimal dialogues it's his actions that will speak. There will be the usual elements that you expect in a Sivakarthikeyan film but it will be slightly different especially with a director like Nelson who is basically a master in dark comedy so basically for 2h 30min you will definitely be satisfied with the feast the film will bring.
Why the dilemma between OTT or Theaters?
For months there were rumors around Doctor that it will be a direct OTT release on Disney+Hotstar but nothing happened, because of the lockdown the theaters remained closed as we all know and already the film's budget had exceeded than what the team expected and with the lockdown, the interest rate got higher too. So they tried negotiating with some OTT platforms but they weren't happy with the offered price and decided that theatrical release is a much better and viable option to make profits which wouldn't be possible with an OTT release. As Nelson said he wrote this film with theater in mind as he wished the film is all set to hit the screens this Saturday.
